Justin Timberlake on Fatherhood

Screen Shot 2016-08-05 at 11.08.52 AM

Fatherhood Friday shout out to Justin Timberlake who is wearing fatherhood well and not shying away from letting it be known. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair how being a new daddy to son Silas has gave him a new perspective.

“Having a child gives you a different insight.”It’s like The Matrix, man. You open a door and there’s this whole other world on the other side of it. And you look back through the door at the other world and you’re like, ‘What was I doing there?'”

“Maybe it’s the difference between 20s and 30s. The difference between ‘must achieve,’ and now it’s like, ‘Work smarter, not harder.’ You want to have time for your family.”

Timberlake was recently on the Teen Choice Awards accepting an honor and took the time to encourage the youth to be nice to their parents and respect what they offer as it will help them be able to make a difference in the world. See video below

I take a lot of pride in being a great father. With that, every decision I make today, I understand that affects him. I take a lot of pride in going about that the right way and I’m someone he’ll look up to.

My thing is, I want to be the best man I can be, when I preach to my child certain things – what to do, what not to do, just the right thing in general – he’ll respect it, because I lived it and I walked it. That’s what I’m trying to do right now. – Torrey Smith

Screen Shot 2015-04-17 at 1.37.49 PM

We salute Anthony Anderson, cool husband, cool dad of two teens and   star of  ABC’s “Black-Ish,” which returned to the small screen this week.  Anderson is one of the hardest working men in show business but is careful to make sure he is a constant in his children’s lives.  His son is taking a crack at acting and one of Anderson’s fondest memories was when his son chose to join him on stage one Father’s Day and tell “Yo, mama” jokes.

When asked what he liked most about fatherhood:

“Both my children being there, and that being a crowning achievement in my life, and it actually made me feel invincible … I can live forever now.

About his wife and stay-at-home parents:

“What she does as a stay-at-home mom, just like all the other stay-at-home moms and dads across the country is invaluable and unquantifiable … it’s the ultimate sacrifice, what these stay-at-home mothers and fathers do.

If you have ever watched ESPN’s “SportsCenter” over the years you know Stu and the hip way he has helped change the way sports highlights are reported. Part of me felt bad that I didn’t know anything about his illness, but the other half felt incouraged and ready to cheer him on from the Screen Shot 2014-03-12 at 8.56.59 AMsidelines. Scott, 48, has two teen daughters and he speaks of how they deal with his illness, in the article.

When he first learned he had cancer, the girls asked him a lot of questions. Taelor once asked if the cancer would kill him, he recalled. “I         said: ‘It could, and that’s why we’re doing everything we can. That’s why I’m taking every medicine I can and that’s why I keep working        out so we can keep traveling the way we do and so I can act silly and goofy and keep embarrassing you.’?”

Scott is divorced and shares custody of daughters.
